JB Searches to Cut Fat and Bloat

JB Pritzker gets his arm twisted by President Trump and now forced to look for ways to cut Illinois bloated budget.

Today, Gov. Pritzker signed Executive Order 2025-05 directing state agencies to:- Conduct immediate budget reviews to identify efficiencies and reductions. - Identify up to 4% of General Funds appropriations for FY26 reserves to reinforce state finances. - Limit non-essential spending, purchases, and travel. - Review all hiring decisions and prioritize only essential roles. - Propose programmatic changes or appropriation transfers if FY26 budget shortfalls emerge.

In other words, Pritzker is being forced by President Trump to get rid of some the ‘bloat’ that Democrat Illinois lawmakers passed in the recently adopted budget! This is something Illinois should have been doing all along, instead of raising taxes, year after year!

These changes are a result of President Trump’s budget policies that are designed to reign in waste and unnecessary spending.
