NBC5 is reporting that on Tuesday, Mayor Brandon Johnson said the City of Chicago finances have reached the “point of no return”

New taxes Johnson is considering include:

• a payroll expense tax
• a head tax
• a new tax on cars coming into the downtown area patterned after New York’s congestion tax

“the Chicagoland Chamber of Commerce has called some administration ideas a “step backward for Economic Growth.”
